SS Great Britain passenger list info

George_of_Westbury Report 21 Mar 2008 14:28

Some while ago i contacted the Curator of the ship asking if passenger lists were available for general viewing online, i did know you could view some of them if you visited the ship itself. I had an interest in this because one of my Ancestors had sailed on the ship in 1863/4 as part of the England cricket team going to Australia
Today i have received a reply, which states the records are in the process of being transcribed , with the object of inclusion on the Ships Website, but no mention that you will be able to view for free, so i think it will be a pay to view situation.
Nevertheless if you have any Ancestors who sailed on the ship, you will be able to see the records.

Just thought i would let you know, some of you may also have an interest in this
