Can I get any certificates or records before 1837, if so where from.

Not certs.............but you may be able to obtain copies of the entries in Parish records...........usually from County Records Offices.

Vivienne, the only things available will be copies of the parish record entries.
They can be obtained from the records office that covers the parish concerned.
If you know the event date and location, the staff will sometimes copy the entry and post to you quite cheaply.
If you dont know where or when, it is either a case of going yourself or emplying a researcher to do so.

No certificates before then but parish register details can sometimes help alot.
They will be held, - perhaps on film or fiche, local to the church, at a main library or archive.
Some areas may offer discs or trancriptions through local family history groups.
