I created the guide, based on searches for my rellies in the census as they were often mistranscribed as well as moving round the country quite a bit.

If anyone replicates the search criteria used they should see how a small change can make a huge difference to the results.

If anyone reads "Finding Martha" and can crack the elusive woman in the 1871 shout really LOUD!!

They are nudges that have been deleted, there are a few reference threads that get nudged up quite frequently, seeing dozens of "nudge" posts clogs the thread so the folks who nudge the thread delete them at a later date.

Having trouble searching the census?

Struggling to find someone in the census?

Ever wondered what search criteria to enter or how to find the images for a particular village or parish?

Or tried to check the description of the district?

Address search any census from 1851-1901 without having to use a pay per view system or buy credits?

There is an illustrated guide to census searching with screenshots covering different searches, finding missing relatives, census dates and information

One series of screenshots (called "Finding Martha") shows how a rellie was found despite being mistranscribed in just about every census. All searches throughout the guides are actual searches made by reseachers so you can duplicate the searches and learn new tricks and tips to use yourself.
