Question re family name

I found my g grandfather's birth place via census as per family info, I bought a copy of his marriage certificate to my g grandmother, Frank Broughton b: Summertown Oxford 1859. This is correct, On every census his father is listed Charles, but on the marriage certificate I ordered where every other detail is correct, his father is listed as George.. anyone able to help me understand this?? . |

How old was he when he married? was father down as Deceased, people did used to tell porkies if they needed parental consent or if the family disaproved of the marriage. |
