Hello again

Glad you got it sorted. I'm working on Vista but have got outlook loaded for my emails. I must admit I haven't really had a good look at Vista, avoiding it and just getting on with the basics, but I prefer XP as well.

I spend so much time trying to work out solutions for the problems it causes - I still can't work out how to download things from Ancestry - It insists on saving them to temporary files and won't tell me where it puts them. - I have no choice in the matter !!

I have now 'sort of' worked out where they go but can't move them or send them to people or save them in another format.

Never mind - I will find another way one day.

Anyway, try this:

Click on view, click on layout from drop down list, then put a tick in the 'folder list box'

Did what you suggested but Folder list option in dropdown menu only lets you view it, it doesn't stay on the e-mail as I had before..

I am not sure, I think its vista but it does look just like my old e-mail on outlook. When I try to change anythig though its Vista.

Are you using Outlook on Vista? If it is outlook try the following:

On the toolbar at the top click on : View

Then when the drop down menu appears click on : Folder List

Hope it works.

I have been trying to do various things on my e-mail and have made a mess of it as I don't really know what I am doing to be honest.
Anyway the bit on the e-mails that says inbox outbox etc on the left hand side has gone, I did something don't know what but its gone, can anyone tell me how to get it back again please?
