I am trying to find information on my G Grandmother Edna Cann 1876. She was apparently born in Darlington. I have her marriage certificate to my G Grandad George Frost Price in 1898( Hull). Through that I found the name of her father and got his Death certificate.I cannot find her birth, death or census prior to 1901( I HAVE 1901). I have thought that Edna may be her middle name, but it is the only name on the marriage certificate. Can anyone give me advice on how I can find more information on her?

She should be on the 1881.........free to all

I'll have a look in 1891 if you tell us her father's details.........

Also, who were the witnesses to the marriage.......

I have searched all the census including 1881. Her father was john Cann born 1854. the witnesses were George's brother Thomas Benjamin Price and M. E. Kelsey.
Thanks

She does seem to be elusive.

What makes you think she might have been born in Darlington?

It says born Darlington on her marriage certificate. her Dad was born in Devon but lived in Darlington. I have found someone linked to his family, but they don't know Edna or what happened to her.

1901 census records her birthplace as Darlington........

I've never known an English marriage cert to give a birthplace...........

If you haven't found Edna with her father on any census, I'm not sure how you know you have the correct death cert for him...............do you have other docs to back up the info?

What did the marriage cert give as John's occupation?

The marriage certificate says he was a Groom. I searched on Darlington council online site and found him and that connected him with another GR tree. He died in 1887 and his father William was present at the death and it gave the address
