Might also be worth thinking around the name a bit - Katarina maybe, or something that might be a bit more exotic or embarrassing that the person prefers to be called Kitty. Could also be a nick name.

My nan was Kathleen and always called Kit or Kitty.

It can also be Kathleen. Thats my sisters name & she was always called Kitty Liz by our older family (Kathleen Elizabeth)

Kitty and Kate are both short for Catherine/Katherine/Kathryn, but some people are also christened Kitty and Kate.

My MIL was called Kit/Kitty her name was Kate. Could also be short for Katherine/Kathryn.
