Picasa does edit photos. You can lighten them, straighten them, remove red eye etc.

It's a good free programme.

Another very good free program is Photofiltre - I have used to for my digi pics and also tidying up old scanned photos.

And thanks Chica - will check that one out too.

Thanks for that Chica.
I can`t wait to give it a try as I`ve so many old photos.

Thanks Jim.
Like Chica I tried Picasa and got in a muddle. Perhaps it`s a `woman ` thing...lol !!

I´ve got Picasa also but it muddles the photos up each time and drives me mad. And it doesn´t edit does it?

It also does loads of things, like photo frames, getting rid of blemishes. etc. It is VERY easy to use. I´ve repaired all my old photos, I can´t believe how beautiful they all look.

PS I´m an old dear too !!

Hi Jay, I don´t know anything about editing but I´ve just downloaded the most amazing (at least to me) prog. to repair old photos and it is free. Can even write names on the photos so when they are in a slideshow people can see who the oldies are. I was so delighted I wrote to the co. and told them so and I got a really nice personal letter back. If you do get this prog. PM me and I´ll give you a couple of tips which I have learnt by using it.

just google FXFoto

Can anyone please tell me which is the best photo editing programme to buy for use with old photos rather than digital.
I`m no techie -being an old dear - so I need something that is reasonably easy to use. Is there such a thing?
