Thank you! That looks like it is them as they have a daughter called Emily and there is a death for an Emily Laws in 1893.

Don't know if this is helpful or not but:-

Like Jacqueline I cannot find the family on any immigration lists but have found an entry in the birth reg for Emily Laws born 1890 in Bethnal Green. Sadly there is a death reg for (maybe) the same Emily Laws in 1893 also in Bethnal Green.

I have searched using different alternatives to Laws but cannot find her in the 1891 census. So maybe the family have stayed in Bethnal Green but their surname has been mis-transcribed so badly we can't find them - yet!

The search continues!

I can not find them in either 1891 or 1901.

My great grandmother was called Elizabeth Daisy Pearce born in 1901 (mis-transcribed as 17 months on census). Her parents were very poor and they had a few children, so when she was born at one point she was going to be sent abroad to live with her auntie. I don't know the name of the auntie (maiden name Chambers), but as Emily is Elizabeth's mother's sister and she is the only aunt I can not find, I was wodering if somebody could check immigration records for the US and Canada for me?
