	Hi My great great grandfather was called John Irons he was married in India in 1879 to Clara Ann Palfrey, however no trace of any birth in India I contacted ONS but no trace? He would have been born about 1855-59 but I don't know anything about him or where the family may have come from. I managed to obtain marriage and his childrens birth certs from overseas at ONS but thats all I know how can I work out where he came from? Thanks

	The marriage cert will tell you how old he said he was......plus his father's name and occupation - if known. Do John & Clara appear on any UK census after the marriage?
