Is this the family in 1851? If so, you could find one of the children's birth reg's and get the birth cert which would give you the mother's maiden name.

Also, if you go to Hugh Wallis's site (google it) and look at Ottery St Mary there are lots of Frankes there.

hi all, WILLIAM FRANKS occ butcher of the above place,
was born around 1796 to 1799 according to the census returns.
and he married a woman first names MARY ANN, surname or date of marriage unknown.
She, if you can believe the census returns was born around
1803 to 1806 in WOODHEY which i assume is close to OTTERLEY ST MARY.
i wonder if anyone could find me a name and date of the marriage?i would be real greatful for any info, thanks a lot TED.
