WW1 HAVE A PRIVATE S NUMBER THAT NO ONE CAN TRACE

hi I have a marrrige cert, on it, it shows HERBERT GRAHAM PRIVATE IN RG OR RE CANT READ IT WITH NUMBER 338631 there seems to be a capital D or an o maybe over the last three.
no one can trace this man, why he was born 1885 lived in 1918 prestwich, manchester area, fathers name jeremiah graham, its my friends grandfather and it would just have been lovely for her to see any information on his war years.
he doesnt have a middle name on his marriage cert, but who knows thanks

Not everyone got an army pension, so you won't necessarily find him on Ancestry army pension records.

A lot of WW1 army records were destroyed. You can check with the National Archives to see if his survived.

Hi Denise i just found a herbert graham on ancestry ww1 pensions. im not a member to open it though. you may want to take a look.

Because of his high issue number he may not have been a regular soldier but on territoral stand by,,reserve.........so wont have any service records,or pension records,

there are a number on ancestry but none are him,,,,

The Herbert Graham on the Ancestry Pensions list has a father called James, not Jeremiah.

There is one under the ASC M/338631 but not with his name Im afraid ...Howard L Ashmead
