hi lynne, shona is gaelic for jane and the meaning of the name shona is "god is gracious" hope this helps,shona.x.

Thanks Sue in Somerset & Glitter Baby for your reply's, i thought Shona was short for another name so i thought i would ask just incase it was but it looks like it is a proper name.

Hiya, I have a relation called Shona but don't know what Shona is short for can anyone give me some ideas please.
