I've been given an old photo of a group of brothers, all in uniforms and I'm trying to identify one in particular.

I thought it was a Royal Marine one but it hasn't got the world badge on the collar.
On the collar are what looks like two tiny diamonds, joined together.

It has brass buttons down the front and two stripes half way up one arm.
The right arm has a stripe above the elbow.
Possibly it is around 1930-40
Above the stripes are two crossed flags and under the stripes, towards the wrists are braided shapes.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jan

The Imperial War Museum has a Photographic section try sending them the photo [email protected] and see if they help. They've helped me in the past.

I think the two crossed flags might mean that he was a signaller.

Two crossed flags are the branch badge of a naval yeoman / signaller

Thanks for the websites.
I've had a quick look through but I think it is a dress uniform for a Royal Marine.
He isn't wearing a hat but has a small sash around his waist and is leaning on a cane.
