DEATH REFERENCES

I have two children in a family that I have just found the deaths for, they are in the same quarter of the same year and have the same reference. Does anybody know why this would be or has anybody come across this before?

Is this after or before age at death were recorded in the index?

I can think of three reasons for sibling's deaths being registered in the same quarter.

1. Twins born and died within the same quarter.

2. The siblings died as a result of an 'epidemic'.
What the 'epidemic' could be would need to be established by obtaining the death certificates.

3. A coincidence.

In my tree I have 3 children from one family all dying within a couple of weeks of each other. It does happen.

It was 1854 so before ages were given. I have never know the same reference used. I think it is either an epidemic or a tragic death, I think I am going to have to get the certificates.

Forgot to say, they were born 1851 and 1852 so not twins and not straight after birth.
