I totally agree, Ed. It is a site I use all the time and has a wealth of information.

If I am not sure of the spelling of a village or town, I look it up on GenUK.

If you are working on a country you are not familiar with, looking up the village/town will also give nearby places and Registration districts and what PRs there are (usually).

But you may also find links to other sites relating to the town/village - sometimes to transcribed Parish Records.
