" ...... they sent me nov as m.o.b and jan as the month of registration this means the person it belongs to celabrates thier birthday 2 months later than there birthday actually is"

No ........ this just means that the parents registered the baby almost 2 months after the birth. It makes no difference to when the birthday is celebrated.

You had (and still have I believe) 6 weeks (or 42 days) in which to register the birth of a baby .... thus a baby born at the end of November could possibly not be registered until January of the following year. BUT that does not affect the actual birth date.

It just reflects slow-acting parents (or ones who couldn't decide on the baby' name!!).

Have you tried using the Local Records Offices instead? (Local as in where the event was Registered, rather than local you wher you live!) They're often a bit more pro-active, and will sometimes ring you first if there's any doubt about which cert you need.

Also, if they can't find the one you want, or it doesn't match all the details, they'll send your cheque back, rather than withhold £3 (or is it £4?), as the GRO does. Always useful, to save a couple of quid - this being such an expensive hobby!

Unless you ticked the box for checking point and then filled in the checkpoint you wanted on the next page ,then they would ignore any date of birth you put as part of the info supplied .You have to specify a checking point on the appropriate page for it to be taken notice of .

Name, district and year might all be the same, even the vol number might be the same, but the page number should be different, I think.

If you did not specify and PAY extra for a date of birth checking point, as mentioned, they will have sent you the cert you ordered without taking note of the date of birth.
