If someone remarries does their maiden name & previous married named show?
I have just found on the Freebmd a
Margaret BLAKER and also Margaret DENTON
1915 quarter 3 Eton
married to Charles F LITCHFIELD.

My Margaret married a Edward Kent DENTON in 1907 and I wonder if she remarried?

I've done that Kirsty, and did find an Edward Denton who died in 1913 in Marylebone district, so I am reckoning that Margaret remarried. But it is the first time I have come across 2 surnames entered as a maiden name & previous married name.

Joseanne,

If you click on the page number of the freebmd index reference you will find that her new husband appears to be marrying two women called Margaret in the same quarter. As there are usually only 4 names to a page the indexers must have entered her under both her previous names. It's quite helpful really.

Thats just what I was thinking Peter, if it hadn't been for the freebmd I would never have known about her other marriage.

Yes her maiden name was Blaker.

Hi
Another thought is...
One name might be the name she was registered at birth and the second name the one she was 'known as'.
My brother appears in the marriage register twice in his registered and 'known as' names.
Cheers Gerry

My grandmother married twice. If I look for her marriage on Ancestry in 1920 it only has her previous married name. However on the local reg office site it gives her previous married name and her maiden name.
