there's a compthere's a company called After Adoption I've been in touch with them and I've found out so much.

they help you all the way.
they can get a copy of your records for you to look at and do searches for birth relatives and ever contact them for you.
I have my first meeting last month and I'm meeting then tomorrow to catch up.
i've found out about why i was adopted and all about my mums family. i've even read my file.
some of it i didn't like but i'm glad i know.

i know about my dad's side too.

Hi Amanda,
Norcap are excellent, I found my sister through them. It does cost but it is worth it. Have you got your records yet? Norcap will guide you anyway. Do be prepared for birth family perhaps not being as you might have imagined, however all worth it to really know who you are.
Regards, Em

Hi Amanda

This may help you.

This is copied from the adoptionsearchreunion web site

***Guide for adopted people seeking their birth relatives
If you are an adopted person who wishes to locate your birth relatives you will find lots of helpful advice in Searching for Family Connections, a guide produced by NORCAP. Please note that some of the legal information in this guide is now out of date, but it does still provide a great deal of valuable information. We will be revising and updating the guide in the near future, but for now you can download it as a PDF document here.***

Hope this helps.
Cheers Gerry

Dont really know much about adoption, but there are many on here who do. Do you know your birth name? Do you know your birth mothers name, area where she lived, any other details that could prahaps give you any leads? Do you have a copy of your birth cert with birth name on from the gro? All these factors if you could prahaps gather them would probably enable you to check the Electrol Rolls, and even see if they are listed on any trees on here?
