I've just found the army medal record of my grandad, William Albert Henry Farrington, from WW1, in Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He has four registration numbers I thought they only had one, can anyone help or give me anymore info please,

To have more than one army number was not unusual in WW1, it occurred when they moved to other regiments Battalions etc,it was not until about 1925 when this practice stopped and a soldier kept his original number through his service life.

But i have to say it would be unusual if he only served in one regiment

Thanks a lot George, I know he was under age when he signed up, lied about his age and not using his real name,

Thanks
