Hi all

Just to let you know I am now up and running with the download and I think it's great. I can't wait for the new Version 7 to arrive.

I suppose it all depends on what you want a programme to do. For me I wanted a lay out similar to my Reunion programme which I could find in any other programme.

Legacy is really easy to use and I love the to do list which is much better than the one on WDYTYA (FTM2005).

I have just downloaded the free [standard] version of Legacy because members have been saying how good it is.

Personally, I've had a go, and I'm not impressed - I have Family Tree Maker, and can find nothing in Legacy which would make me want to change from FTM. I find FTM to be very easy to use, and not complicated in any way, and I shall continue.
I appreciate other GR members may lean towards Legacy for other reasons.. The free version has many buttons which cannot be used - unless you purchase the full version of Legacy 6 - this is a shame, because you cannot use the full prog before you purchase.
I think a full version free 30 day trial use would have been more appropriate.

Sorry - just checked my email from Legacy....

"This special pre-release edition (Legacy Charting) is free, but will expire June 15, 2008. Legacy Charting will be included at no additional cost with Legacy Family Tree 7.0 Deluxe edition when it is released this year.

So presumable version 7 will be out in mid June or later?

Could you not download the free version for now and upgrate to 7 when it comes out?

The new version will include a tree making/printing program which is on free trial to version 6 owners.

Hi,

After much debate about which programme to buy I decided to go for Legacy 6 Deluxe, which I ordered on Wednesday night.

Today I have received a letter saying it is going to be delayed as they are waiting for Legacy 7. i have tried to ring them but they are closed now until Tuesday.

I have looked on the internet to try and find details of when it is due but can't find out any info. Not even from their own website.

Does anyone know anything about when I am likely to get this product and the difference between version 6 and 7?
