You need to click on Search the Archives at the top of the homepage. Go to Catalogue, then click on Search the catalogue. Put your words in the first box, for example a surname, then J77 needs to go in the Department or series code box.

Thank you for asking this question and the subsequent answers. I tried it yesterday and found the divorce I was looking for, so it works!

You need to put the name of the person into the Catalogue Search on the National Archives site, and just search J77 (put this into the reference box)

You could try on NA, I just put dates in 1914-1920 and a lot come up. I think there is a 30 yr closure but you are past that time scale

What years are you looking for? There are some on the National Archives (advanced search and put in: 'name and divorce'

Have you considered bigamy? My grt uncle did!!

Are there any sites I can visit which will tell me if a person has been divorced, as I am unable to find his death and his wife appears to have re-married.
