Julie, what sort of time frame are you talking about? Can these people be found with your grandad in any census?

Start by looking for their marriage and then order the marriage certificate.

It won't have the dates of birth on but will have their ages which will make it easier to find a birth. It will also give the name and occupation of both fathers which will help track them down on a census (if they were born pre-1901).

My grandfather's birth certificate arrived this morning in the post so finally I know waht my great grandparent's names were.
Unfortunately, I have no idea of how I am going to find out my great grandparent's birth dates and death dates.
I could look for their marriage which would be easier, as I could look around the dates of when their children were born, but if I was to come across their marriage and order their marriage certificate, would this document have their date of births on it ?
Could someone advise me please of which would be the best step to take next...thanks
