Could anyboby please give me some information as to how I can access Inquest reports?.

Hi

Its a problem I have had as well, apparently not all reports were kept long term.

there have been several threads about this, and one suggestion is to search newspapers of the day for report of the inquest.

also search AtoA to see if the county archieves hold records, i got lucky with one of mine and was able to order the report from the county archieve

Brenda, all you have to do , is contact the cororsrs office, and ask for the transcript!

Although many inquests have not survived, in some cases they have.

There is a 75 year closure on inquest reports and you need to get in touch with the relevant history centre for the county to find out whether the documents have survived.

If they have, and the inquest took place less than 75 years ago it will be up to the present day coroner to decide whether or not you will be allowed to view them.

Thanks all who answered my Inquest query
the 3 I want are a bit older than 75yrs . But I will have a go at the county coroner;s office and see what i can get. and try Colindale and Kew.
