My G Grandmother Rebecca Keeley b.1854 Coventry d. 1876 Prescot. Married Arthur Fitter in 1874.

I have found her on the 1871 census she was a boarder training for service at an Industrial Home in Coventry

I cannot find her on the 1861 census.

Can anyone please find her, I would be really grateful.

Thanks

Sue

Edited to add I have found a Rebecca Kealey on the 1861 census possibly mis-spelt? HELP!!!!!!!!

Really strange as no other BMD's in Coventry for that surname from 1846 to 1866.

Was hoping to find a possible remarriage for parents

Hello all, thanks so far.

She had my grandmother Mary Jane Fitter in 1876 in Prescot.

I am trying to track her parents (stating the obvious)

The writing on that census page is dreadful, gave me eye strain!

After she died Arthur remarried Mary Ellen Fletcher but I am not really worried about her cos she is the step!

This has driven me crazy!

Thanks for helping

The census age is often correct but you have to remember that ages were calculated in twelve month bands. Say the census date was 07 April 1861: a person born 08 April 1859 would have their age recorded as one year, whereas a birthdate of 06 April 1859 would give an age of 2 years.

I hope that clarifies this for you

Her marriage which you know about...but do you have the certificate? If not I think you would need to buy it to get her father's name and occupation.

No not yet. I will have the bite the financial bullet and order it.

Thank you all for your help.

It was just a chance that I had temporary blindness re the census.
