Missing place of birth

Just recently when a GR contact has given me access to their 'tree', the place of birth has been omitted. As GR will not allow you to save to a tree without inserting this info, I was wondering if this was a glitch in the system.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Perhaps the tree was imported as a GEDCOM from Family Tree Maker or any other programme
