Tracey, just a word of caution, the IGI is very useful as a guide but there are a lot of records submitted by members which are fairly ridiculous. Even some of the extracted records which are much more reliable, have mistakes - ultimately you will have to confirm the evidence by the actual parish registers.

for cheshire records go to ..www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb then go to database,then babtism /marriage /burial..type in surname required,then submit...some records go back to 1500`s........if you find it a little confusing,pm me...good luck...allan

some parish records are on line, if you know which area you're looking for.
Try googling names, places etc and you may strike lucky!

You can try looking in the IGI at www.familysearch.org, Ancestry has some parish records, you can google *placename parish records* to see if any are online. Failing all that, you will have to go to the Records Office or Archives for the area concerned and look at the Parish Records.

Hi Tracey go to this site its free and very good for Christening and births info and also has marriages and a some deaths.

You will find a great site for records and some go back to the 1500's!
