I have a marriage certificate for a Thomas Murray born 1883, I have been told that Thomas was born in Cork, Ireland. On the marriage certificate it says his fathers name was Thomas Murray also. How do I find his birth certificate for 1883?

Hi Marion

There is one baptism record showing for a Thomas Murray in Cork 1883 on the ifhs site - whether it is the right one or not I don't know. It costs 5 euros to view the record.

Or you can apply to groireland.ie - they will search 2 years either side of the date you give, if they can't find it they will charge you 4 euros anyway.
