Look for parish registers in the parish of marriage, hoping for his baptism.
Often couple's married at a bride's parish though.

Search for Wills for his surname. His father, or other relative, may name him or his children.
Search registers for others of his surname, especially if they are named as witnesses to his marriage.

CAN SOME ONE TELL ME THE BEST WAY TO START SEARCHING FOR A PERSON BORN ON OR AFTER 1750 I MA GUESSING AT THE DATE AS HE WAS MARRIED IN 1771.
