He's alone, Jane, living with a Rivay family in Halton, Trafalger, Ontario. The head of the family, Frank Rivay was born 1875 in India and emigrated 1895. Doesn't give birthplace of wife & children.

Hi All,

Many Thanks for your input. What I really am looking for is their deaths. Any ideas?

Margaret, on the 1911 census - is he alone or with family?

Best Wishes

He could have "forgotten" his age. I have three rellies who gave incorrect dates on the attestation papers (although I think they did remember the month they were born). One rellie lied, I mean, forgot, ;) because he was too young to sign up and so he made himself older than he was.

That doesn't match either, Jim, if he was born Nov. he couldn't have been registered Jul-Aug-Sep.

Guess we Cannucks are just as bad as you Brits for getting things wrong!

There's a Sidney Cawley on the 1911 Canadian census but his birthdate doesn't match the WW1 records. It says born Nov. 1887, England and emigrated 1911.
