I will try and make this as simple as possible.

I have managed to find relatives back to 1841 census (with the help from people on this site)

I have not done anything on the family for a while now but decided to get the details out again and have a look.

Here is the question.

Richard Long born c1780 (worked out from the 186) census he must have died shortly after that does not appear in 1871.

Married to Mary ? cannot confirm maiden name. c1781

on the 1841 census he is with Mary and in the 1851 he is also with Mary BUT there are a list of other people living, I believe in very close proximty, all with the same surname and occupations.

I am worndering if these are related to Richard and Mary possible siblings or children (Ibelieve Henry who appears on the 1841 and 1851 are probably Richards son this may also apply to a Lydia who is living with them in 1841 and 1851

How can I confirm the connections to these and possible even find out more details on Richard and Mary.

I have all the neceesary cert for my grandparents up to Richard.

The area is always the same Westminister Middx, St Margarets, St Georges Hanover Square, Pimilico.

One other point Henry, son of Richard married an Elizabeth Webb born North Nibley Gloucestershire. I went to the church there and there was a plaque on the wall relating to a George Long born c1765 in North Nibley and is said spent 40 years in Westminister so trying to find out the connection - if any.

Hope this makes sense any input suggestions you can give would be extremely helpful. I think ultimately I will have to visit the City of Westminister Archives (?)

Thank you

Regards Paula

The Henry in the 1851 that i put on his dad is called William..so i added the 1841 showing the same family...

Sorry Julie my mistake.

I cansee from what I have in front of me 1851 Richard and Mary

1 Francis Place was Henry/Fred/Lydia/Catherine

I then have No 9 Francis Street as above with William as father

I then have 10 Francis Street

Fred Long
Harriett

Then 4 Windsor Place

James
Martha
Mary
Elaiza
Charles
Jane
James
Susan

1 Windsor Court
George
Francis
Walter

As you can see there are a lot of them around and this is why I was trying to find a connection.

Sorry I keep disappearing tidying up in between times I have to go to work soon so thought I had better make the effort the only trouble is this becomes a bit compulsive!!

I think the best thing to do is try and tie in to see if Lydia Gay is Henry's sister as on the 1841

I thing maybe the William on the 1841 and Richard on the 1841 were brothers...or father & son even

Julie
