Try this site. Scroll down and click on "Home Children"
Then click on "Immigration Records Search" and type in the name.

At the same site check soldiers of WW1 in case he enlisted.

Try bbc radio 4 - they had a programme on shipments of children to Canada only last week. Apparently it was big stuff.

Hi Karen

Google child migrants... there is a lot of information there.

Try this website http://www.fbga.org.uk/index.php You have to join.

My motto is "Never under estimate a Google search"

Margaret's ref to the Radio 4 programme is likely to be the one broadcast by the "Making History" programme on 6 May.

You can still listen again by going to the website, and there is a summary of the programme item, with links to further resources.
