Hi
Can any one tell me how to save a family tree program onto a memory stick.
Have tried to do it by save but program with then not open when I try and open the file.
How do you export the file as a gedcom onto another computer?

I am trying to get my tree onto my lap top.

Thanks for any advise you can give.

You need to have installed some form of tree program onto your computer.

There are a lot used. There is one you can download free from the LDS site. ie Family Search or I use Genopro
www.genopro.com

Or you can buy reasonably priced packages.

I know this works because last week I exported my entire GR tree to my computer. My Genopro program recognised it and turned it into the tree format I am used to on there.
I then extracted my husband's tree and ended up doing a printout of some of his ancestors which involved saving it to a memory stick and letting my husband print it out on his A3 printer.

Good luck

You can also download free legacy tree and open with that , to send to another computer just send e-mail of it to yourself on the other comp and save it on there and then open it with whatever tree program you choose ;;
