Hi
have some relitives that i have been told fled Germany
Surname of Albert - but now have been told that this may not have been their true surname - could have been Alberman?

any ideas on how to research this?

Google "Gernam genealogy" - a number of sites come up which you can then search.

Why would the name be other than Albert - there are plenty of Germans with that surname. Depends on the period that you think they 'fled' Germany, their religion and town where they were born.
