Hi guys,

I'm trying to help my partner's octogenarian grandfather trace his family tree but am having a lot of trouble.

So far all I have is my partner's great grandfather's birth certificate:

John Reynolds born 19 July 1882 at St George's Workhouse, in the registration district of St Saviour Surrey, sub-district Borough Road, Surrey.

His parents were John Reynolds, a painter, and Mary Jane Reynolds formely Miller of 23 Elham Street.

There are also rumours that a daughter was born who was either adopted or emigrated to Canada.

The family lived in South East London (Southwark area) for a long time so I suspect they were all born there.

I can't find the marriage for John Reynolds and Mary Jane Miller, and can't find them on a census either.

Help!

There is also a Henry John Reynolds with a mother Mary Anne.

They are unlikely to put his place of birth down correctly so it will be difficult to pin the right one down
