Have a look at the GRO website. There is quite a bit on there regarding adoption. |

The hand written entry will refer to her adoption and she will have been entered on the adoption register. But you are quite right......these records are not readily available to all and sundry. |

I'm helping my friend to trace his sister (Helen Insley) who was adopted at 6 weeks old in 1971, when my friend was 18 months old. |
