Pauline, have you checked the other states for his
birth? I was looking for my Great grandmother's birth details in Victoria,I eventually found her in NSW.
Her birth had been registered over the border.

If you are anywhere near an AIGS branch you can pay $15.00,& go on to Digger on the computer
& search the BDM's in each state. The volunteers there are very helpful.Good luck!!

Margot from Melbourne.

Another thought, have you tried different variations of the surname?

Or perhaps the mother had been married before and he went under the first husband´s name at birth but was known by the second husband´s name later on? (This happened to one of mine)

Could you find a baptism cert? My grandfather had no birth cert. He had a real problem trying to get his pension. We finally got his baptism cert.

If you can't locate a birth reg'n in the year you think he was born.........try other years. You could have been given some inaccurate info................

My grandfather was born in 1915 and according to BD&M in NSW his birth wasn't registered. How do I find out more information, or where do I look, as I don't have anything to go by apart from his name and his parents names.
