Would anyone happen to know if Rosser is a nickname or a version of another name? Would appreciate any help. Thanks Thelma |

Rozzer is used in East London to refer to a policeman. It comes from the Hebrew word "chazer" (approximately pronounced "hazzer"), which means "pig". Also became 'cozzer', a mix between rozzer and copper. |

Having typed Rosser into the first name on the Ancestry search it would seem that Rosser is a Welsh male name. |
