hi sue c , thanks for reply , i was hoping it would give parents or wife or even town he came from but if not there's not much point getting cert ,thanks for letting me know , angela

I very much doubt that buying the death cert will throw up any more information than you already have.
It will give number, rank, name, age, country of birth, date of death, place of death and cause of death (usually no more than died of wounds).

Yes, they were, but not listed in the normal BMD lists.

Find my past have them listed and you can apply for a certificate.

hiya , can anyone tell me if death certs were issued for soldiers who were killed in action during ww1 please . i have a daniel kelly , 4th batt royal highlanders ,no 1864 killed in france 29/6/ 15 , but i'm not sure if he's mine . i've found medal card but can't find service record , i don't know how else to verify he's mine . any advice appreciated , thanks , angela
