Family tradition has it that my great uncle spent some time "at Her Majesty's pleasure", possible in Wandsworth. Apart from that details are non-existent, so I'd like to find out more. The great uncle concerned was born in 1882 so chances are that he might have been in the prison system sometime in the first half of C20. Does anyone have any experience of researching individuals through prison records please? Can anyone tell me what is available and where to look and how successful I am likely to be?

Many thanks in anticipation
