This is the address

For details of a soldier's WW2 service, you should write to the address below with the soldier's full name, rank, number and regiment, eg: Thomas Atkins, Private, 4441990, DLI. If you don't have all that the birth date can sometimes be used.

Army Personnel Centre
Historic Disclosures
Mail Point 400
Kentigern House
65 Brown Street
Glasgow
G2 8EX

I downloaded some forms but can't remember where from. You need a death cert (photocopy) and permission from next of kin. If you are not a widow or widower of the person it costs £30

Sorry I can't be more help but you may find it using the address.

They will only appear if they survived the bombing in WW2.................a huge number were destroyed sadly.

Keep checking on ancestry to see if yours have survived.

So they will appear on ancestry eventually?
Are they adding to the list all the time?

Sorry, never dealt with the 1st World war info before, so a bit of a unknown territory for me.

Thanks for the reply

Lots were detroyed in the blitz during ww2...........they are putting more on all the time, so I hope you are lucky and find them.

One of mine I found were charred round the edges, but mostly readable.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain the war records for WW1.
Is it the same procedure for the WW2 records, i.e, post off and pay £30.
I have found 2 brothers on the Medal honors list, on ancestry, so have their numbers, but no war records are coming up for them
Any tips would be great.
