The Old Bailey site only has cases which were heard at the Central Criminal Court in London.

Oh forgot to ask. Where can I find court records? I've googled and only get people affering a service looking up recent cases.

I've found records of him on convict musters in Tasmania. And I've also found a record that shows he was convicted o 6-1-1832 in Suffolk, given a term of 7 years and transported on 20-12-1832 on the vessel Lotus to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania).
None of the records I've found have stated what he was charged with and convicted of. All the records I've found are through Ancestry, and the info on them says that they 'may' show what the conviction was for, so it's not much help there.
I know he disappeared from our tree in 1832 and popped up with a new family a few years later in Tasmania where he eventually died.

Find out what someone was convicted and transported for?
I have an 1832 conviction and transportation but can find no reason for the trial and sentence of 7 years. Any ideas please, all will be gratefuuly received. :)
