I have family born in Streatham 1794 but the records are not in the Surrey Archives at Woking.
I did enquire in the Minet Library at Knatchbull Road lambeth. They hold quite a ot of records but not mine.
You would be advised to ring.
Otherwise I am afraid its the London Metrolpolitan Archives in Northampton Road EC1

Hi Nightowl51
Thankyou so much, I really appreciate the offer.
What I am looking for is:-
Mary Ann Humphrey b 1827 Brixton Surrey
Father James Humphrey b abt 1795
Mother Jemima don't have date of birth but she died in 1838 in wales, cert states age at death 61, bit dubious though, too old.
I don't have anything on Mary ann untill she married my Grt Grt Grandfather in 1850. so anything you can find would be marvelous.

Regards

Amber - is this your girl in 1841? Have you worked out who Mary aged 50 is -? Why did you say Mary Ann's parents are James and Jemima? Where did you find that info please? How have you got to this Mary Ann as your ancestor.

Name: Mary Ann Humphreys
Age: 14
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1827
Gender: Female
Where born: Surrey, England

Civil Parish: Clapham
Hundred: Brixton (Eastern Division)
County/Island: Surrey
Country: England

Street address:

Occupation: View Image

Registration district: Wandsworth
Sub registration district: Clapham
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
James Humphreys 15
Mary Humphreys 50
Mary Ann Humphreys 14
William Humphreys 20

The reason Im asking the above info is because Ive found a James and Jemima Humphries in Dorset in 1841 but not born in that county and though there is no Mary Ann born 1827 there is a Fanny born 1827? May be just a red herring, but

Name: Fanny Humphries
Age: 14
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1827
Gender: Female

Civil Parish: Cerne Abbas
Hundred: Cerne, Totcombe and Modbury
County/Island: Dorset
Country: England

Sub registration district: Cerne
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
Aaron Humphries 10
Fanny Humphries 14
Harriet Humphries 15
James Humphries 40

Jemima passed away in 1838 in wales, have death cert.
First 1841 census is not her, I thought it was, but under futher investigation of census, not.
Second census not her either as her mother had already passed away.
