Richard W Kane married Jennifer A Stafford in Q1, 1966 - Thurrock, Essex. That's the only Richard W Kane marriage between 1965-1975. I couldn't find any Richard Kane marriage to a Jackie in that time period - could Jackie in fact have been Jennifer?

A GR member by the name of Nicola Mendez has both Richard Kane (1947) and Jennifer Stafford (1948) on her tree. She would be a good one to contact!

You could buy the death cert - the informant may have been a relative. Also from the cert you will get an exact date of death and an address, and with that info you could search the local paper in that area for an obituary or death notice, which may well contain names of relatives.

Also, if you found his marriage cert (to Jackie) that would help as it would have his father's name. With that info you could then check whether the 1947 birth found above matched or not. If it did, you could compare the date of birth with that on the death cert above.

This is going to be very difficult for you to trace, have you tried Electoral Registers, is that how you found him in 75/76? Its strange that it is much easier to trace someone born 100 years ago than now! If you know where he was in 75/76 l would try later electoral registers in that area as a starting point.
