After many years of searching I have found my 3 x Gt. grandparents!
On the 1841 Census Edward HAWTIN aged 63 "Stationer" and his wife Sarah were either visiting or living with their son William and family at 34, Wilson Street, St. Leonards, London. William was also a "Stationer" aged 35.
The 3 children of Edward and Sarah that I have found so far, were all born in the City of London.
Can any one suggest where I start looking to discover the birth places of Edward and Sarah due to the fact that they were "Not born County".
Kind regards and many thanks in advance,
Dana

I'm assuming you can't find them on any subsequent censuses? Not even Sarah as widow??
Because from 1851 onwards they would've given their birth county on the census form.

I'm guessing this is William?

Could this be Edward's death?

Name: Edward Hawtin
Year of Registration: 1850
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Banbury
County: Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire
Volume: 16
Page: 11 (click to see others on page)

And maybe this is Sarah's

Name: Sarah Hawtin
Year of Registration: 1846
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Banbury
County: Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire
Volume: 16
Page: 18 (click to see others on page)

or this

Name: Sarah Hawtin
Year of Registration: 1847
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Banbury
County: Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire
Volume: 16

Which may be why you can't find them on other censuses.

Oh, YOU WONDERFUL People, Sister B, Liz and Yorkie.
Thank you ALL very much for your rapid respnse. TWO hours!
I know that Sarah OLLIF was Edward's wife because several of their grandchildren had Ollif as their christian name which was a source of great puzzlement to my Gran who died at age101 years in 1990 and her favourite uncle was Ollif!
I shall send off for the Banbury death Certs and hope for new clues. Banbury would help to explain how Maryann Hawtin (daughter of Edward) came to marry the village baker from Tadmarton, OXF although she was born Aldgate, London! They married 7th Aug. 1825 by LIC. St Michaels, Oxford.
Thanks again for all of your info. I am absolutely spinning at your kindness and fact finding.
Bless you all,
Dana
