I have now added Harry and Anna Theobald (Studd) to my family tree.

I am still keen to find out what happened to Jacob Reuben after 1891. It looks as though George Lovett died in 1894.

Thinking Jacob could have changed his name, I have been looking for him in the name of Lovett but no luck.

Does anyone have any other ideas please? WW1? Change of name?

I've been looking for him for so long (about 10 years) I'm finding it hard to give up on him.

Any further help appriciated please?

Thank you for your help. Jacob isn't a direct ascendant. My grandad was the youngest of 17 children all born in Thorndon. I was trying to account for all of my Mum's aunts and uncles and stumbled on Jacob Reuben also born in Thorndon at about the same time. Curiosity made me look into him as well and I discovered he was a cousin of the others. I wanted to see that he made it in life after such a sad start. Silly really I suppose!!!

I don't think you'll every prove that George is or isn't their dad

I have the same in my family my Gt G/mother married a Mr X but was living with someone else on the 1901 with 2 children , but though it says the Head was dad, the head wasn't Mr X, so my surname isn't was i always thought it was lol

I have Jacob's birth cetificate and know that his Mother was Mary Ann Theobald and his father isn't listed. I haven't checked Anna's but assume it's the same. Jacob is in the Wortham Workhouse in 1881 and back with George Lovett in 1891.

Sorry, I missed Harry at first and have amended my reply. I am wondering how I can prove/disprove the connection with George Lovett. Any ideas?

I'm not very good at looking at alternative spellings etc.

Harry is also down as G/son to the head of house which is George Lovett

Hi, Help needed to find out what happened to Jacob (Reuben), Anna & Harry Theobald of Suffolk. Jacob and Anna were brother and sister. Harry was Anna's son (I think). They are listed on 1891 census but I can't find them on 1901. Have tried passenger lists. Any help would be appreiciated please.
