Every country has it's own adoption laws.
If the child was born and adopted in South Africa then you would have to apply to them direct.
Google 'South African adoption contact laws' there is a bit of information including this site which might help.

Yes, I meant Joan Allan Glitter baby.

Thanks Gerri, I want to arm myself with plenty of info before I pass it all to her as the baby was born in South Africa.

Willsy,

Different countries have different adoption rules if the child was adopted outside England/Wales or Scotland..you will need to search the country for its advise on tracing,

Theres lots of good informative threads about adoption.

If you put 'adoption' in the "Search this board" they will all come up for you.

Hi all,

Have said I would help a friend try and find her adopted daughter. I do not know where to start but did see June leaving a message recently. Could someone give me the web address, I think I might have spelt her name wrong in trying to find the thread. I want to give my friend the information so she can start her search especially as the baby was born abroad.
