any tips for deducing which could be the right marriage?

i have found two marriages in 1859 in east ashford

for william young marrying a harriet

(one in sep to harriet baker and one in dec to harriet raines.

i would think this is about the right year cos of age of oldest child and they were both born in wye from census records .. and his parents were also married in east ashford

how might i know which is likely to be the right one ?

The birth certificate of one of the children will give you the maiden name of the mother.

If you are adding these details to your tree, the village of Sellindge has a 'D' in it....incase you want to search for others there.
