Hi Ivy

After looking on the National Archives site I am now wondering if it will be worth getting in touch with them as it looks like all I shall get is the info I have now (apart from the Passport No:)

What I would love to know is where (the address) she went to stay in the USA. I know the boat, time she travelled and that she landed at New York. We were told she went to visit a half sister in Pennsylvania but no one can remember the name, all we have is an old photo with the name of a son (which looks like) Eddie Sylvond/Sylvand. It's an unusual name but all my searches have come to nothing.

Ah well I reckon one day my boat will come in

Searching the National Archives Catalogue, it appears from the description of the record

Series details FO 610

that there were ledgers kept detailing the issued passport number and the intended destination. The records seem to go up to 1948.

This leaflet on the National Archives site:

"Passport Records
Domestic Records Information 60"

suggests that the Foreign Office chose to preserve only a few representative examples of the paperwork associated with a passport application after the system changed in 1915.

It does not say whether or not lists were compiled/preserved of applications granted.

Hi All

Does anyone know if you can get information of Passport details from the 1940 - 1950's or will it be in the 100 year catchment period
