can anyone tell me what this means please ?

This is a baptism of Thomas Woodall born 26 May 1802, bap 30 May 1802 the son of John Woodall a labourer of Carlton and his wife Sarah.
John was the son of William and Eleanor Woodall and Sarah the daughter of Thomas and Esther Hatfield.

Looks like it's from a parish record on Ancestry......their layout is like the one above.............

Hi Sanda,

JUXTA can mean 'near' or 'nearby'.....
maybe its old english for Carlton, near Snaith? Just a guess!

According to www.streetmao.co.uk Carlton is jst over half a mile from Snaith.....have a look.

yes it was one of the yorkshire parish and probate record from ancestry///

i was looking for info on john woodall .. but it didnt help ///

it makes a bit more sense now .. thanks xx
